What Does a True Business Partnership Look Like?

At Strive Workplace Solutions, our goal is to provide thoughtful answers for the entire office environment. Often, that means stepping back from the obvious solution to find one that is smarter, more efficient, and better suited to the specific situation at hand.
Recently, our Bend, Oregon team was approached by a local healthcare partner with a unique challenge. They had identified roughly 80 office chairs spread throughout their facility that were in varying states of repair. The straightforward path would have been to replace them all—a decision that would have required a significant budget increase and generated substantial waste. Instead, they asked a different question: Is there a way to bring these existing assets back to life?
Our team worked side by side with the client's facilities staff to evaluate which chairs could be restored economically. Together, we tackled the repairs—sourcing new wheels and arm pads, replacing seats and mechanisms, and addressing whatever each chair needed to function again. This wasn't our typical work, but when budgets and sustainability matter, we show up however it takes to solve the problem.

The results were clear and immediate:
  • Meaningful Savings: By restoring rather than replacing, we delivered substantial cost reductions for the client.
  • Environmental Impact: We kept 80 sturdy chairs out of the landfill.
  • Partnership: This project highlighted our commitment to being a true partner—one willing to get creative and dig into the details to solve real problems.

Thumbs Up
Projects like this aren't about following a standard script. They happen when we take the time to understand a client's specific constraints and look for opportunities to add value beyond just a new purchase. While we specialize in new furniture solutions, you're working with a team dedicated to finding what makes sense for your operation—even if that sometimes looks different from what you expected.

If you have a workplace challenge that doesn't have an easy answer, let's talk.

Celebrating 35 Years of Loyalty
When a customer wanted to do something special for a team member celebrating 35 years with the company, they knew who to call! David got to work on her desk transformation, replacing her old desk with a modern sit-stand workstation.

We were thrilled to help make her workspace more comfortable and to help celebrate her incredible achievement. Office space design doesn’t need to be a massive project to make a meaningful difference for employees.

From Empty Space to Productive Place: A 25-Workstation Transformation

There is nothing quite like the potential of an empty building. It's a clean slate, but for many businesses, it can also be a daunting puzzle. How do you turn a hollow shell into a thriving, productive environment?

At Strive Workplace Solutions, we love a good "before and after," but this recent project was extra special because it was built on a foundation of trust.
The Power of a Partnership
We initially partnered with this client on a smaller project a few months back. They were so pleased with the results and the process that when they were ready to tackle a much larger area within their building, they reached out to David again to take the lead.

They had a specific goal: transform an expansive, empty floor into a high-functioning area for 23 to 25 employees, with a workstation-only layout.

The Team Behind the Transformation

A project of this scale requires a blend of creative vision and technical precision. This transformation was led by two of our pros:

  • The Strategy: Our Workspace Consultant, David, worked closely with the client to navigate several rounds of drawings. His goal was to identify the optimal configuration that maximized headcount without sacrificing personal space, all while keeping the client’s budget top of mind.
  • The Execution: Once the plans were finalized, our installer, Thomas, brought those drawings to life. Thomas handled the heavy lifting, ensuring every workstation was assembled and aligned with precision.

Precision in the Plan

Designing for 25 people in a single area requires more than just lining up desks. David and Thomas worked to ensure the room's flow felt natural and professional.
  • Customized Layouts: David tweaked the workstation configurations until they perfectly fit the building's unique footprint.
  • Budget-Smart Solutions: We focused on high-quality, durable workstations that delivered a modern look without the "big-office" price tag.
  • Ready for Work: Thanks to Thomas’s efficient installation, the move-in was seamless.
"A building is just a structure. A workspace is where the magic happens."
Ready to Grow?
Whether you have a blank canvas or an office that needs a better flow, Strive is here to help.

The Personal Touch in Executive Ergonomics

it's how we do it
Building a functional workspace is about more than just selecting furniture; it is about having a partner who understands your goals and is there to support them. Recently, a customer in Portland called upon our Workspace Consultant, Tim, to help bridge the gap between their classic office design and modern ergonomics.
See photos and video below
A Hands-On Assessment
The customer wanted to enhance their existing suite of Geiger executive desks—stunning, substantial pieces that serve as the centerpiece of their office. They wanted to integrate active sit-to-stand capabilities into these units, maintaining the aesthetic they loved while adding modern functionality.

Because Tim approaches every project as a consultant first, he visited the space to fully understand the requirements. He noted that this was a unique scenario: the desk featured a 1.5” thick solid top and a massive footprint, resulting in a finished size of 10’ 6” x 8’ 7”.
Providing the Right Support
Tim understood that a desk of this magnitude required a specific foundation to ensure safety and performance. Drawing on his experience, he worked with the customer to identify the best possible hardware for the job.

He recommended the Element Titan Pro 4-leg base. This configuration is designed for significant load capacities and oversized tops. By selecting this heavy-duty option, Tim ensured that the desk would not only lift the weight with ease but also remain rock-solid and stable at standing height, perfectly matching the professional feel of the executive suite.
The Result
The retrofit was a success. As seen in the photos, the desk retains its executive presence while offering the flexibility of a sit-stand workflow.

This project highlights the value of working with a partner who takes the time to listen and visit the site. By pairing personal service with expert product knowledge, Tim helped the customer bring their vision to life, ensuring their workspace works as hard as they do.

Professional Installation of Pillar Booths
Our Bend, Oregon team was recently contacted by a local business to install several Pillar Booth privacy and soundproof units in their office. With our expertise and attention to detail, we ensured a smooth, efficient installation from start to finish.
Project Overview
The client wanted to enhance their open office layout by creating quiet, private spaces for calls, meetings, and focused work. Pillar Booths were the ideal solution and our job was to make sure every unit was properly assembled, positioned, and ready for immediate use.
Our Role in the Installation
  • Careful Assembly: Each booth was installed according to manufacturer specifications for maximum safety, durability, and acoustic performance.
  • Efficient Coordination: We worked closely with the client’s team to minimize disruption and complete the project on schedule.
  • Attention to Detail: From precise leveling and placement to final walkthroughs, we ensured every booth met the client’s expectations.
During installation, one of the booths had a technical issue with the lighting system. Our team promptly contacted the manufacturer, explained the situation, and coordinated a quick resolution. The replacement part arrived shortly after, and we installed it to ensure all lighting and electrical components were functioning perfectly.
The Result
The client’s office now features fully functional, soundproof spaces that blend seamlessly into their modern workplace. These booths provide employees with private areas for confidential conversations, video calls, or simply a quiet place to focus.

Sit/Stand Conversion of Geiger Desks with 1.5” Worksurfaces

Precision in Motion: Sit/Stand Conversion of Geiger Desks with 1.5” Worksurfaces
Converting premium fixed-height furniture to sit/stand functionality is no small task—especially when that furniture includes Geiger desks with 1.5” thick worksurfaces, solid wood detailing, and integrated keyboard tray. When a client presented the challenge to Tim in our Portland office, he didn’t just retrofit; he engineered a solution that preserved the original aesthetic and function while adding full height-adjustability.
To ensure the integrity of the design—especially the curved solid wood edge built into the worksurfaces—Tim brought a full desk setup into our warehouse and built a complete prototype. This hands-on approach allowed us to carefully explore all dimensions, tolerances, and movement requirements allowing us to integrate an Element Titan Pro three-leg electric base onto their worksurfaces.
We then reinforced the setup using C-leg kits, a top stiffener, and a custom heavy-duty flat bracket—resulting in a system as solid as the original, with the added benefit of smooth height adjustment. Once our custom shop modified the side surface to achieve the correct gap for safety purposes, we were ready to install this new desk on-site.
Despite the additional weight of the thick Geiger worksurfaces, the Element Titan Pro base performs flawlessly. Its powerful lift capacity and precision programming makes it easy to align desk heights exactly—whether matching the height of the adjacent surfaces or dialing in a custom sit to stand preference.
The result? A seamless transformation that maintains the integrity and craftsmanship of the original Geiger design, while meeting the workplace accommodation and ergonomic needs of the client’s and employee’s requirement.

What is a sit stand desk?

7/14/2025

What is a Sit-Stand Desk?
A sit-stand desk (also called a standing desk or height-adjustable desk) is a desk that lets you change between sitting and standing positions while you work.

Employees can adjust the height to sit comfortably in a chair or to stand and work.
Benefits for Employees
Improves posture and reduces back pain
  • Sitting for long hours can lead to slouching and lower back pain.
  • Standing part of the day can encourage better spinal alignment and reduce discomfort.
Reduces sedentary time
  • Sitting all day is linked to health risks (obesity, cardiovascular disease).
  • Alternating between sitting and standing helps break up long sedentary periods.
May boost energy and focus
  • Many users report feeling less sluggish and more alert when they stand periodically.
Supports movement and flexibility
  • Encourages light movement (shifting weight, stretching).
Customizable to employee needs
  • Different people have different ergonomic needs—sit-stand desks offer flexibility.
Things to consider
  • It’s best to alternate sitting and standing—not stand all day.
  • Anti-fatigue mats, supportive shoes, and good posture are important when standing.
  • Proper monitor and keyboard positioning is still necessary to avoid strain.
