Building a functional workspace is about more than just selecting furniture; it is about having a partner who understands your goals and is there to support them. Recently, a customer in Portland called upon our Workspace Consultant, Tim, to help bridge the gap between their classic office design and modern ergonomics.

A Hands-On Assessment
The customer wanted to enhance their existing suite of Geiger executive desks—stunning, substantial pieces that serve as the centerpiece of their office. They wanted to integrate active sit-to-stand capabilities into these units, maintaining the aesthetic they loved while adding modern functionality.
Because Tim approaches every project as a consultant first, he visited the space to fully understand the requirements. He noted that this was a unique scenario: the desk featured a 1.5” thick solid top and a massive footprint, resulting in a finished size of 10’ 6” x 8’ 7”.

Providing the Right Support
Tim understood that a desk of this magnitude required a specific foundation to ensure safety and performance. Drawing on his experience, he worked with the customer to identify the best possible hardware for the job.
He recommended the Element Titan Pro 4-leg base. This configuration is designed for significant load capacities and oversized tops. By selecting this heavy-duty option, Tim ensured that the desk would not only lift the weight with ease but also remain rock-solid and stable at standing height, perfectly matching the professional feel of the executive suite.

The Result
The retrofit was a success. As seen in the photos, the desk retains its executive presence while offering the flexibility of a sit-stand workflow.
This project highlights the value of working with a partner who takes the time to listen and visit the site. By pairing personal service with expert product knowledge, Tim helped the customer bring their vision to life, ensuring their workspace works as hard as they do.
